Snow Runner (Nayat) is a natural hair, noticeably stiffer than llama, yak or Icelandic sheep hair. This is a key feature that makes the problem of tangling, or even 'felting', non-existent at all.
It has a wonderful, very lively action in the water, and even with minimal movement the lure pulses and ripples. When properly placed on the hook, it allows you to build a large and visually generous fly using noticeably less material.
What a challenge it is to build a large yet light fly every pike fly fisherman knows. Lures made from Snow Runner are surprisingly easy to cast. Mainly because as soon as the fly is pulled out of the water it is almost dry. Snow Runner is probably the most versatile material available on the market. Dedicated to large and very large patterns for both fresh and saltwater predators, however, it works equally well for salmon flies or larger trout flies.
